Privacy Policy

VoiceAPP ("we", "us") is a voice transcription app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Account identifier. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a stable, anonymous identifier. We do not request or store your name or email.
• Audio you record or import. With your permission, audio is uploaded to our processing infrastructure to generate a transcript. Recording can continue while the app is in the background (for example with your screen locked) so long recordings aren't interrupted; iOS shows its microphone indicator whenever recording is active.
• Transcripts. The text result of transcription, stored so you can access it in the app.
• Corrected transcript revisions and AI artifacts. If you separately agree and request a Study Brief, Meeting Brief, or Interview Brief, we store the corrected transcript revision, evidence links, and generated or edited artifact so you can reopen and verify it.
• Purchase records. We track your remaining transcription minutes and a ledger of purchases. Payments are handled by Apple and RevenueCat; we never receive your payment card details.
• Storefront country. Used to show the correct pricing.

How we use it

Solely to provide transcription and requested AI artifacts, maintain your minute balance and entitlements, and operate the app. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Third-party AI transcription processing

VoiceAPP uses AssemblyAI, a third-party AI transcription provider, to convert speech to text. When you ask VoiceAPP to transcribe a recording or imported file, we send the audio, transcription settings such as language and speaker-label options, and job metadata to the VoiceAPP backend hosted on Cloudflare. The backend then sends the audio and transcription settings to AssemblyAI so AssemblyAI can generate the transcript.

The app asks for your permission before sending audio for this processing. If you do not agree or if you revoke consent in Settings, new recordings remain on your device and are not sent for transcription.

Separate generative AI processing

VoiceAPP asks separately before creating an AI artifact. If you agree and request one, the corrected transcript text, speaker labels, timestamps, and output language are securely sent through the VoiceAPP backend to our configured generative AI provider. Audio is not sent for this step. The provider uses the transcript only to produce the requested output; VoiceAPP requests non-persistent processing where the provider supports it. AI outputs can make mistakes, so VoiceAPP validates evidence links before showing a result and lets you open the cited transcript timestamp. Transcription remains available if you decline or revoke this permission.

Service providers

• AssemblyAI processes your audio and transcription settings to produce transcripts.
• Apple handles sign-in and payments.
• RevenueCat manages subscription and purchase state.
• Cloudflare hosts our backend and stores audio and transcripts.
• OpenAI processes corrected transcript text only when you separately request an AI artifact.

We require service providers that process VoiceAPP user data to provide the same or equal protection for that data as described in this policy and required by App Store Review Guidelines. We do not authorize these providers to sell your data or use it for advertising.

Retention

Audio, transcripts, immutable corrected transcript revisions, and AI artifacts are retained so they remain available in your library until you delete your account. Privacy-safe product events contain only allowlisted operational labels, never transcript or artifact content, and are deleted after 90 days.

Your rights & account deletion

You can independently revoke transcription-processing consent and generative-AI consent in the app under Settings. You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app under Settings. This permanently removes audio, transcripts, transcript revisions, artifacts, analytics events, your balance, purchase ledger, and account record. You can also contact us to request deletion.
